A Letter to Our Parents Regarding COVID-19 Safety Precautions

May 28, 2020

To All of Our Parents,

As we prepare to reopen our preschool this Monday, June 1, 2020 (7am to 6 pm), we thank you for your patience as we welcome our precious children back to school. The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for our global community but working together we will persevere.

While we wait for a treatment and vaccine we recognize the virus is still out there and it is important for us to be remain vigilant. As a result, we have taken steps to reduce the risk of transmission and reopen our school safely. These revised guidelines and procedures are a result of reviewing guidance provided by multiple governmental agencies including the CDC, State, and local governments..

We are very excited to welcome back our children whom we have missed very much. Working together and following the safety measures being put in place we can create a safe and healthy environment. The safety of our children, their families, and our staff is our #1 priority.

Measures We are Taking at The Preschool
  • Installed air purification systems in each classroom which will clean the air an average of once every hour
  • Placed hand sanitizers near the entrance of every room to ensure all who enter (staff, parents, children) clean their hands
  • Purchased touchless thermometers so we can check the temperature of everybody (staff, parents, children) before entering the facility
  • Installed social distancing signs so that safe social distance (6 ft.) can be maintained during drop-off and pick-up
  • Implemented disinfection routines so that all classrooms, administration office, and playground are disinfected multiple times per day
  • Required facemasks for all staff and parents and children who are on premise
  • Updated student curriculumto teach and practice 20 second hand washing with soap multiple times per day
  • Purchased new individual student tables so that students can maintain social distance by working at individual tables instead of community tables
  • Reconfigured sleeping cots so that when sleeping children are not facing one another

For a comprehensive list of the measures we are taking and those that we need parent support in please see this web page.

Please note that due to the closure of the school on March 16, 2020, if you paid tuition for the entire month of March we will be providing each student with a half month credit to be applied for the first half of Junes tuition. The remaining half of June's tuition should be paid on or before June 15, 2020 according to the new rates.

Also, upon arrival on the first day of school we will ask parents to sign a consent form acknowledging that you had read the new guidelines and will abide by them.

Once again, we are so excited to have all of our children back and look forward to working with each of you. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to let us know as we work together.

Sincerely,

Dear Parents,

We are missing all of you. We are very eager to be with you and all of our children. We would like to be able to give a specific date of when we will reopen but due to the uncertainty of our times and the nature of this virus, with no treatment or vaccine, we cannot give you an exact date at this time.

The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has been extended through May, officials said, with the current restrictions largely remaining in place. We have set our goal for June 1 to reopen as we are monitoring this situation of COVID-19.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci has said it would be a mistake to rush to reopen too soon. We continue to follow the local state and federal guidelines for sheltering in place. We want to get back to work safely, we want an ease of the stay at home restrictions. Our number one concern is the safety of everyone. We hope everyone is safe and following the stay at home regulations.

We will keep you updated and give you at least a week notice before reopening. We are eager to get back to our children. We are hoping this will end soon. We pray for the safety of everyone.

Sincerely,
